about me:
as a small child, i spoke only german at home and when i went to kindergarten, i was considered retarded and was allowed to make things out of play-doh all day. i did eventually learn english, and after a ba in biology from oberlin college, i got my mfa in visual art from vermont college. in 2003, yearning for a watery geography, i packed up my honda civic and drove across the country, passing through all the states that begin with the letter "i" and discovered my trajectory ended in seattle.

i make work about the weather, mapping, and the daily. i live with cupcake marlys, genius cat. i enjoy collaboration.

in my freelance life, i create title sequences and animations, as well as production design for film.
